I received my toffee gift and did not refrigerate it. Is it okay to eat?
Vern's Toffee contains no preservatives and that is why we recommend refrigerating or freezing it for long term storage (greater than 2 weeks). In general, our toffee can be left at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. After 2 weeks we strongly recommend keeping your Vern's Toffee box fresh in the refrigerator (for up to 6 more weeks) or in the freezer (for up to 4 months).
Do you have a Vern's Toffee House retail store?
Yes, our retail candy kitchen is located in our hometown of Fort Collins, Colorado. We are a very popular stopping point for visitors in Northern Colorado. Please stop by and visit us if you are ever in the area!
Is Vern's Toffee available without nuts?
Vern's Butter Almond Toffee is not offered without nuts.
Will I receive a shipping confirmation email for my order?
Your Order Confirmation email also serves as your shipping confirmation email; you will not receive an additional shipping confirmation email. Your Order Confirmation email states that your order will be processed and shipped within 48 hours of receipt and we adhere to that timeframe. Outside of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season virtually every order received by 12:00PM Mountain time is shipped the same day it is received.
How will my package be shipped?
Packages weighing 10 pounds or less will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail. Packages weighing greater than 10 pounds are generally shipped via UPS or FedEx. When a recipient has both a physical address and a PO Box please provide both so that we may select the best method of delivery for your gift.
Can I ship to a PO Box?
In most cases, yes! We utilize USPS Priority Mail for packages weighing 10 pounds or less. However, packages weighing greater than 10 pounds will likely be shipped via UPS or FedEx. If your recipient has both a physical address and a PO Box please provide both in your shipping information so that we can ensure your gift is delivered in a timely fashion.
How long will it take for my package to arrive?
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused delays in delivery across all carriers. In general, packages staying within Colorado should be delivered within 3 days; packages traveling outside of the state of Colorado will likely take 5-7 business days to arrive.
Do you ship internationally?
Historically the answer has been an easy 'yes'. However, with the worldwide pandemic coupled with increasingly stringent customs/taxes/duties on the receiving end, we are greatly reducing our international shipping. It has become increasingly difficult to have our perishable candy cross international borders in a timely fashion. In many instances we have been forced to discontinue this option rather than sacrificing the quality of our product and our customers' satisfaction. We currently will not ship to South America, the United Kingdom, Spain, or Portugal and we reserve the right to refuse shipment to other countries as international requirements are ever-changing.
Do you ship to Canada?
Yes, we are currently shipping to Canada. Please call us at 1-800-958-3767 to get specific rates and to complete your order.
Do you ship to Alaska and Hawaii?
Yes, we can ship to Alaska and Hawaii via USPS Priority Mail. Additional shipping charges may apply and will automatically appear at checkout.
Do you ship to APO/FPO addresses?
Yes, Vern's Toffee can ship to APO/FPO addresses via USPS Priority Mail. Please allow for an extended delivery time.
Do you keep my credit card information?
Vern's Toffee is committed to keeping our customers' private information private and secure. Your credit card information is not retained after completion of your order. While we do maintain billing and shipping addresses in your account for your convenience, you will be asked for your credit card information each time you order online or by phone.
Why do you require a shipping date rather than the arrival date?
We are able to ship your package on a date specified in your order. However, we cannot guarantee a specific arrival date. If you are not sure of your desired shipping date you can select "As Soon As Possible" and then communicate in the "Comments" section of your order what your target delivery date is; we will determine the best date to ship to ensure delivery.
Can I change or cancel an order?
If you phone immediately after placing your order we will make every effort to change or cancel your order. However, once your order has been processed and shipped we are unable to make changes or cancellations.
